About Shannon

Hi, I’m Shannon!

I have been working in the mental health field since 2010 and started my own private practice in 2020.

On the side of my private practice, I operate my second business, Finish Stronger Mindset and Mental Wellness Coaching. I work with ultramarathon runners through my coaching business. Coaching is a non-clinical service and is not counseling.

In 2016, I began participating in ultramarathons ranging from 50-100 miles. After working with a running coach for a few years, in 2025, I decided that I wanted to change things up and began running competitively at these distances and beyond. It has been a blast.

I am also an assistant run coach. I’ve been helping out my running coach since 2024. While I’m not a certified run coach, I know a thing or two and am equipped to help.

Random fun fact: Research strongly indicates that exercise boosts function and physically restores our brains. Did you know that proper exercise can improve anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, dementia, and eating disorders?

Most importantly, I’m a mom and wife. My daughter and I enjoy playing together and going on outdoor adventures. When I am going to a race, she says, “Mom, I hope you win!” – And that’s usually the first thing that she asks me when I get home, ha.

My husband got me into running back when we started dated, and I got him into ultrarunning shortly after that. We enjoy it so much more than the marathon distance and have even ran a few 50 milers together (without fighting).

Thanks for reading.
